Purpose
The Teacher Fund believes in any educational activity, formal or informal, students learn more than just technical content: they learn entire experiences. These experiences are shaped by the environment, the people, the interactions that occur, and the associated emotions. These experiences are what underlie education and influence the development of an individual over time, in ways far more powerful and lasting than the learning of educational content alone. The Teacher Fund believes a student's entire experience during any educational activity shapes the type of person they become.
We believe the learning environment shapes the mind and perceptions of the student, that sense-making is always occurring, for good or bad. We believe consistent, positive micro-events over time, create stronger support for student growth. The day-in and day-out unspoken, "I believe in you," within a structure of individual accountability, creates the strongest foundation for learning regardless of aptitude. Believing one can, that one will, walks hand in hand with the tools and skills traditional education provides.
The Teacher Fund is here to help you provide this positive environment for your students.

Grants
If you agree with our purpose, if you recognize teachers as the primary influencer of any learning environment, then The Teacher Fund would like to support you and your classroom. In 2024, we will distribute grants to be used however you desire, so long as it positively impacts the learning environment of your classroom.
The application is simple.
Answer one group of questions to help us understand your approach to education. Then in 300-500 words, explain your philosophy on education and how you would use the grant to positively enhance the learning environment of your classroom. Remember to focus on the the entire classroom and on enduring impact; we generally do not fund single events. Lastly answer a second group of questions; these are not a part of your application assessment, instead they assist us in learning and understanding the needs of teachers. The questions alone will take 10-15 minutes. The essay is, of course, up to your discretion.
